What a difference What

What a difference

What a difference the classroom would be…..

If a black board and chalk

was the only weapon we sought.

What a difference the classroom would be…..

If a teacher had student that were starving to be taught

With the mission before them to keep the whole classroom in thought

What a difference the classroom would be…..

Engaged with their students and lesson in hand

everyone in here will learn nothing else will I stand.

What a difference the classroom would be…..

If learning was not just for the quick and the smart

and everyone knew they were a vital part.

What a difference the classroom would be…..

If swaying from the lesson was not so utterly absurd

Think of the untapped ideas that would finally be heard.

What a difference the classroom would be…..

Regardless that the clock says it is time to go

The teacher announces my door’s always open I just want you to know.

What a difference the classroom would be…..

When a child is not judged by an A B or C

But on individual achievement now that’s the real key.

What a difference the classroom would be…..

When the seeds of wisdom are properly sewn and felt free

Then a true tree of knowledge you will begin to see.

What a difference the classroom would be.

I think the poem means to look deeper than just the surface of kids.
